Detectives are calling for witnesses to help piece together information surrounding an unprovoked violent attack in South Fremantle which has left a middle aged man with severe head injuries.

Around 7.00pm on Wednesday the 5th of December 2012, the victim was walking along the pathway on Ocean Drive adjacent to South Beach when four dark skinned males approached requesting spare change.  When the victim advised the males that he didn’t have any money one of the males head butted the victim in the face moments before a second male struck the victim to the head with a lump of wood.  The force of the blow caused the victim to fall to the ground unconscious where he remained for some time before coming too, to discover the males had fled the area.

The attack left the victim with bleeding on the brain, a broken eye socket, broken nose, and four broken ribs prompting detectives to call for information that may help with information surrounding the exact location and nature of the vicious assault, and identification of the four males involved.

If you know the identity of any of these males or if you have any information about this offence, make a report online or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, where all calls are strictly confidential and rewards are offered.  Please quote Reference Number 6432.
