A heated altercation at a popular north side licensed establishment ended in a deliberate hit and run leaving the 21 year old victim with a broken foot.

Around 12.10am on Saturday the 19th of May 2012, the victim and her friends were at the licensed premises when they have become involved in an argument with a group of men.  Both groups left the establishment, with the victim and her friends walking from the area to the car park of the Coventry Square Markets.  The victim and her friends were approached shortly afterwards by the males, the situation violently escalating to a physical confrontation where one of the males got into a newer model Mitsubishi Triton Ute and drove it at the victim and her friends, mounting the kerb and running over her foot as she attempted to run from the area.

The victim was carried to safety by a witness as the offending vehicle left the area in a north bound direction along Wellington Street towards Morley Drive.  Detectives believe a male captured on CCTV cameras wearing a distinctive white t-shirt with a large logo on the back may be able to assist with inquiries into the incident.

The male is described as:

  • Fair complexion
  • Believed to be aged in his 20’s
  • Medium build
  • Black short cropped hair
  • Wearing a distinctive white t-shirt with a large black printed logo on the back and jeans.
