The vulnerability of a wheelchair bound male didn’t deter the robber who violently mugged a female carer in the car park of a Gosnells Shopping Centre.
Around 2.15pm on Monday the 13th of June 2011, the victim who is employed as a carer for the severely disabled attended Crazy Clarks on Albany Highway in Gosnells to do some shopping. Following the purchases the victim exited the store and walked to her car parked a short distance away on Main Street. As she pushed the male in his wheelchair she was holding his wallet in her hand when a male approached from behind and demanded money. Reluctant to part with the property, the victim refused the demands and was punched to the left side of the mouth before the wallet was snatched from her hand. Infuriated by the violence, the victim kicked the male in the groin and he ran from the area towards the Coles car park.
The male is believed to have been in company with a group of males around the time of the offence who Police are hoping will come forward to assist with the inquiry.
The males are described as:
- Tanned complexion
- Medium build
- Aged in their early to mid twenties
