A staff member was threatened at knifepoint when she confronted an armed intruder who had used deceptive tactics to swipe two laptops from a Burswood commercial premises.

Around 8.05am on Thursday the 13th of October 2011, the man entered the commercial premises on Claude Street and requested to use the toilet. The female employee agreed to the request directing the male to the rear of the premises to use the facilities.  The male returned shortly afterwards entering an office off limits to the general public and brazenly removed two laptop computers.  A female employee challenged the male about the acquisition resulting in a struggle which led to the male producing a knife and warning off the female before he ran from the scene in the direction of the Graham Farmer Freeway. 

Police have released an image of a male in the vicinity at the time of the offence in the hope that he may be able to assist with inquiries.

The male is described as: 

  • Fair complexion
  • Medium build
  • Brown hair
  • Facial hair including moustache and beard
  • Wearing a black and white cap and a blue / grey jumper.
