A normal morning turned into a terrorising experience for a young school boy as he was set upon and robbed by three males as he walked towards a Woodvale bus stop late last month.
At about 7.15am on Friday the 22nd of March 2013, the victim was walking past Yellagonga Regional Park towards a bus stop on Ocean Reef Road when he saw three males standing on the foot path. As he approached the males one of them called out for a cigarette. After advising that he didn’t have any he kept walking at which point one of the males grabbed him by his shirt and held him down whilst the other two searched his pockets, removing his wallet. Not satisfied, the three continued their reign of terror circling the victim as he lay on the ground.
Fearing for his safety the victim took to defending himself, punching one of the males in the face. This, however, was to no avail. The victim was then punched to the face and thrown to the ground, landing in nearby bushland.
The three males then walked off continuing up the pathway before diverting off into bushland.
As a result of the incident the victim received bruising and swelling to his cheek and eye socket, scratches to his stomach and a ripped shirt.
