An unprovoked assault against a 74 year old man in the city left him with serious facial injuries requiring medical treatment.       

Around 5.15pm on Tuesday the 21st of June 2012, the victim was waiting for a bus on the corner of Murray Street and Barrack Street in Perth, when another male approached and after a short conversation, violently punched him twice in the face.

The force of the assault caused his prescription glasses to smash into his eyes resulting in  two deep facial lacerations which left him dizzy and in pain. 

Police have arrested the male responsible but continue to search for witnesses who were in the vicinity of Murray Street and Barrack Street around the time the altercation occurred, who may have observed the incident.
