A night out ended in anger for the owner of a Toyota Prado when he discovered a thief had broken into his vehicle and stolen his bank card, which was later fraudulently presented at a local service station.

Around 10.30pm on Friday the 2nd of September 2011, the owner returned to his vehicle which was parked in the Ye Old Narrogin Inne Car Park on South West Highway in Armadale to find the front window smashed. Items had been ruffled through and the owner’s wallet was removed from the middle console. It wasn’t long before a male fraudulently presented the stolen bankcard at the Gull Service Station on Third Avenue in Armadale to withdraw a sum of cash.

The owner was alerted about the fraud offences when a call to his bank to cancel the stolen card resulted in information surrounding the transactions.

Police have released an image of a male taken from CCTV footage in the hope that he can assist with inquiries.

The male is described as:
  • Fair complexion
  • Medium build
  • Aged late twenties to mid thirties
  • Moustache and beard stubble
  • Wearing a dark coloured jack and jeans.
