Crime doesn’t always pay as a male may soon discover after he was caught red handed on CCTV camera stealing an elderly lady’s handbag from her shopping trolley.
At around 4.15pm on Monday the 23rd of May, 2011, the lady was at a supermarket on Stirling Highway, Peppermint Grove. Unbeknownst to the lady, whilst she had her back turned away from her trolley shopping, a male person walked up behind her and reached across grabbing her purse from her handbag. What the male may not have realised was that the incident was captured on CCTV surveillance cameras. Not aware of what had taken place the lady reported her purse as lost. It wasn’t until she got home that she discovered her stolen credit card had been fraudulently used almost immediately after the incident. A cash amount of $900 was withdrawn from her account.
