Fremantle Local Policing Team are investigating the stealing of a handbag from a woman on a bus.

At approximately 5pm on Monday 15 August 2016, three women got on the route 998 bus at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch.  The female victim was already on the bus and was seated near the rear doors.

When the bus was near York Street in Beaconsfield, the bus stopped and one of the women grabbed the handbag off the woman, breaking the strap and all three women left the bus.  They were last seen heading down York Street.

The blue and red striped handbag contained cash, a mobile phone and sunglasses.

Police have released CCTV images of three women who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.

The first woman is described as:

  • Dark skinned
  • 20-25 years of age
  • Long brown hair
  • Wearing a white top with black pattern and dark pants.

The second woman is described as:

  • Dark skinned
  • 20-25 years of age
  • Dark hair
  • Wearing hooded jumper.

The third woman is described as:

  • Dark skinned
  • 20-25 years of age
  • Dark hair
  • Wearing a black jumper and wearing blue jeans.
