A couple seized the opportunity to steal a laptop from a pawnbroker’s shop recently while staff were distracted with other customers.

At around 11.30am on Saturday the 6th of August, 2011, the male and female couple entered the pawnbrokers on Binley Place, Maddington, where they both loitered near the front counter for a while. When the store staff were distracted with other customers, the male seized the opportunity to disconnect a power cable from a laptop on the front counter. Placing the laptop in a backpack the couple walked outside the store undetected. It wasn’t until staff later noticed the laptop missing and CCTV reviewed, that a male and female were seen in the vicinity at the time. The laptop was an Apple Macbook Pro valued at $1,499.00.
