A male’s reckless antics put his own life at risk as well as that of others when he wandered down the railway tracks near Wellard train station, disabling the trains path by deliberately tampering with the interlocking system. 
 
Police were alerted that the male was trespassing on the railway tracks 500 meters north of Wellard train station around 10.09pm on Sunday the 8th of May 2011. Focused on a path of destruction, the male deliberately launched rocks onto the tracks disabling the train’s path before intentionally smashing an illuminated station sign with a large rock.
 
Public transport authority transit guards attempted to intercept the males path with him evading capture by sprinting down the tracks in the direction of the train station continuing to run through the train station in a southerly direction, fleeing the immediate area and disappearing into the streets of Wellard.
 
Police have released an image of a male taken from CCTV footage in the hope that someone may be able to identify him. 
 
The male is described as: 
  • Fair complexion
  • 20 -25 years
  • Medium build
  • Brown hair
  • Approximately 180cml
  • Wearing dark sunglasses, a white t-shirt with a grey motif on the chest, black shorts and black shoes.
