A big response from the WA community has resulted in record numbers of reports being received at Crime Stoppers WA in 2016 and January 2017.

  • In 2016, over 53,300 contacts (calls and online reports) were received
  • 1/3 of all these contacts were made through the mobile-responsive, online report form available on the Crime Stoppers WA (CSWA) website
  • 6 out of every 10 of these contacts were of high enough quality to be converted into actionable police intelligence

This is a good indication of the trust the public has in Crime Stoppers and their continued willingness not only to report information but also that the information is of a high quality.

The trend continued in January 2017 with an average of 169 contacts per day. This equates to a 21% increase in contacts (calls and online reports) compared with January 2016. January also delivered a 19% increase in information/intelligence reports being created from these contacts, compared to the same month last year.

CSWA’s specialised, drug-related report form was launched in December 2016 and will make a valuable contribution to the increased quality of information available to police on illegal drug activity.

The public are making a powerful contribution to a safer WA.
