A partnership between the community and the WA Police

Crime Stoppers WA Ltd is an independent, not-for-profit community organisation and registered charity, working in partnership with the WA Police to help any member of the public play a key role in solving crime via our online report form or the toll-free telephone hotline (1800 300 000).

Our services allow you to report crimes and suspicious activity anonymously, so you can have peace of mind while playing your part for the Western Australian community. You don’t have to leave your personal details and the call isn’t recorded.

One of the best-known and trusted names in this State, Crime Stoppers has been actively contributing to a safer WA since 1995.

In the past 5 years, the number of crime intelligence reports compiled from contacts by citizens increased by 40%.

Every piece of information helps – you could hold the missing piece that helps solve a crime!

Two ways to play your part

Crime Stoppers in WA operates in two ways:

  • The Crime Stoppers call centre
This is where you can call specially trained police officers who prepare intelligence reports based on the information you provide.
  • Crime Stoppers WA Ltd website
We provide online report forms in this website for you to complete. Police intelligence reports are compiled from the information you supply in the completed forms.

In addition to our crime reporting role, Crime Stoppers WA is responsible for maintaining strong community awareness and active use of the service by publicising crime information and crime prevention advice via the media.

Award-winning assistance

Crime Stoppers International consistently presents us with awards for excellence for our good work in increasing community awareness through the media.

We must be doing something right

Today, over 50% of the intelligence held by the WA Police comes through Crime Stoppers.

These 2016 statistics show the positive impact that Crime Stoppers and the public have had on making WA a safer place for us all:

  • Over 53,300 contacts (calls and online reports) were received by Crime Stoppers
  • These contacts were of real value, resulting in charges to offenders, arrests, reduction in crime and considerably adding to WA Police intelligence holdings
  • Non-phone contacts (including online reports, emails, faxes and intelligence logs) increased by 52% to 17,450 contacts
  • The total number of intelligence reports compiled for the WA Police from the information the public gave during the year rose by 27% to 33,962.

And we have some great plans for the future so that interested members of the WA community will be able to participate with us by:

  • Receiving information and advice on safety and security matters
  • Volunteering to help with events and other activities
  • Making donations to Crime Stoppers (we’re a registered charity)
  • Taking part in our website activities including educational events
  • Contributing to social media conversations.
