A 49 year old man received serious injuries to his face after a male attacked him while he was enjoying a drink in Spearwood.

At about 6.20pm on Saturday the 29th of March 2014, the victim was drinking at a tavern in Spearwood when he was approached by a male. After a short moment an argument ensued between the two men, which resulted in the male hitting the victim to his head causing him to fall to the ground. The male then continued to hit the victim’s head as he lay on the ground before staff intervened.

Police have released a CCTV image of a male who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.  

The male is described as:

  • Fair skinned
  • 30-35 years old
  • Medium build
  • Dark short hair with a mullet
  • Short beard
  • Possibly spoke with an Irish or Scottish accent
  • Wearing black track pants and a black jumper.
