At around 10am on Friday 29 April 2016, a man entered a sports store on Belmont Avenue Cloverdale.

The man selected an item from a shelf and placed it underneath his jumper.  He left the store causing the security sensors to activate as he walked out.  Staff approached the man and asked him to return to the store.

The man produced a knife and swung it at the staff members.  The staff members retreated and the man ran away.  He was last seen heading towards the intersection of Abernethy Road and Fulham Street Cloverdale.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.

The man is described as:

  • Light skinned
  • 22-27 years of age
  • Medium build
  • 170-175cm tall

Wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, dark coloured jumper with ‘Echo’ motif on front, ¾ denim type shorts and white runners.
