Detectives are hunting the “thongless” bandit who ran from the scene of a robbery to a waiting get-away vehicle leaving behind one of his bright yellow thongs.
Around 8.50pm on Sunday the 15th of January 2012, a male wearing a red beanie and a scarf over his face to conceal his appearance, forced his way into Chicken Treat, Padbury where he confronted a sole member of staff in the rear office.
The male threatened the victim with a large kitchen knife pointing it in his direction while gesturing for him to fill a cream coloured cash bag with money from the safe. Once the victim complied with the demands, the male ran from the store to a waiting vehicle, described as being a white sedan, driven by his co-offender.
Detectives have released an image taken from CCTV footage of a male in the hope that it may help provide information about the offence.
The male is described as:
- Dark skinned male
- Solid build
- Approximately 168cm
- Wearing a red beanie, blue scarf, distinctive black jacket with a circular motif on the rear and yellow thongs.
