At about 8.40pm on Sunday 2 October 2016 a man entered a takeaway business at Lakes Shopping Centre in South Lake.

The man jumped over the front counter and demanded the staff to open the till.  When staff started walking to the till the male jumped back over the counter. The staff then refused to hand over any money at which time the man raised a Screwdriver in his left hand and a torch in his right hand and was waving them at the staff continuing to demand money.

A staff member picked up the phone as if to ring police and the man ran out of the store and turned left to head behind the lakes Shopping Centre.  At this time a delivery driver of a nearby takeaway store exited the rear of their restaurant into the car park where his delivery vehicle was parked.

The man ran up to the delivery driver whilst holding the screwdriver above his head.  The man was shouting “Back!”  The delivery driver was in fear and crouched down, the man walked behind him and unclipped his bum bag.  He took the bum bag containing cash from the restaurant and ran off towards the railway line.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.

The man is described as:

Thin/Medium build, approximately 180cm tall, wearing a black hoodie with hood up, black scarf covering his face, grey Track pants with the word California down the right leg and Blue shoes.
