A male used an unusual weapon to hold up a Service Station in Leda in the early hours of the morning.
 
At around 5.20am on Sunday the 17th of June, 2011, the male entered the United Petrol Service Station, on Feilman Drive, Leda carrying a thin style wooden handle spade. He approached the counter demanding money from the attendant. Fearing for his safety the attendant opened the register and gave the male a handful of cash. The man fled from the store, running across the road to a primary school oval.
 
The male was described as a light skinned male in his early 20’s. He was approximately 183 cm tall and slim build. The male was wearing a black hooded jumper and sunglasses and a cloth type material over his nose and mouth as well as gloves on both hands.
 
Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time and noticed anything suspicious to contact Crime Stoppers.
