At about 3.20 am on Tuesday 17 November 2015 a man entered a service station situated on Safety Bay Road Warnbro. The man walked up to the service station from Currie Street (southern side of the service station).

The man pressed the night bell and the service station attendant opened the doors, at which point the man pulled a black mask over his face and walked towards the counter demanding cash from the attendant and threatening him with what appeared to be a handgun.
