At about 3pm on Saturday 23 July 2016, the victim was walking south on the footpath adjacent to West Coast Highway, near The Boulevard in City Beach.

The victim was approached by two men from behind, who tackled him to the ground and a large knife was held to his throat. A wallet containing cards, cash, a smartrider card and a mobile phone were stolen.

The men were last seen running north along the cycle path off West Coast Highway.

The first man is described as:

  • Light skinned
  • 20 – 30 years of age
  • 180cm tall
  • Medium build
  • Wearing a grey beanie, black hoodie and jeans.

The second man is described as:

  • Light skinned
  • 20 – 30 years of age
  • 175cm tall
  • Medium build
  • Blonde hair
  • Wearing a grey hoodie and jeans.

UPDATE: A man was seen using the stolen Smartrider card at Stirling Train Station on Saturday 6 August 2016.

Police have released an image of a man who Police believe can assist them with their inquiry.
