Detectives from the Arson Squad’s Strike Force Vulcan are seeking the public’s assistance with their investigation into two fires in Edgewater on Tuesday 27 December 2016.
Between 5.50pm and 6.15pm a fire started in the bush/scrub area on the northern side of the Mitchell Freeway, Edgewater. Shortly after, a second fire began on the eastern side of the Mitchell Freeway.
Strike Force Vulcan officers would like to speak to two men and a woman who were seen in the area at the time of the fires. One of the men was riding a green and black BMX bike. Officers believe they may be able to assist with the inquiries.
Anyone who was in the area around between 5pm and 7pm who may have seen any suspicious person, vehicles or activity, or has any information regarding these fires is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au. Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
