At about 8:30pm on Tuesday 24 January 2017 a fire started near a shed on the corner of Matilda Street and Warton Road in Huntingdale.
An occupant of the house was alerted to some strange noises and then saw a glow emanating from the front. The occupant then realised that there was fire near the shed. Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended and put out the fire.
A shed, as well as a large palm tree were destroyed by the fire.
Police attended and inspected the scene, deeming the fire to be deliberate lit.
A man was seen walking in the vicinity immediately before the fire and police believe that this person may be able to assist them with their investigation.
