At about 12:25am on Saturday 9 January 2016, a man approached a driveway in Wooltana Street, Como and used an unknown object to set fire to a parked white motor vehicle.
The fire caused significant damage to the vehicle causing it to be a write off.
The man was last seen walking in a westerly direction along Wooltana Street in the direction of the Canning Bridge Train Station.
Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.
