A misunderstanding between two men in Perth city ended with one in hospital. 

At about 1.35am on Sunday 15th March 2015, the victim was waiting to order his food at a restaurant on the corner of Barrack Street and Hay Street when he was confronted by a male. After a short verbal altercation the male punched the victim to the head causing him to lose his balance and fall backwards, hitting the back of his head on the ground. The male then ran from the scene in an easterly direction on Hay Street. It is believed the incident was sparked by the male believing the victim was looking at his girlfriend. The victim was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment to his head injury. 

Police have released a CCTV image of a male who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.   

The male is described as:

  • Fair skinned
  • Approximately 185cms tall
  • Short dark hair
  • Tribal tattoo on his upper left arm
  • Wearing a large thick gold necklace around his neck.
