A taxi driver was kicked in the head after an altercation with a fellow motorist.

At about 4.15am on Sunday the 4th of January 2015 the victim who is a taxi driver, was on James Street, near the intersection of William Street.  There was a verbal altercation between the taxi driver and the occupant of another vehicle.

As a result, the occupants of the other vehicle approached the taxi, the victim exited his taxi and a fight has broken out. The victim was kicked in the head and received a laceration above his left eye.

Police have released a CCTV image of a male who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.   

The male is described as:

  • 175-180cm
  • Dark skin
  • Slim build
  • Short black hair
  • Early 20’s
  • Wearing a grey and black polo top with a yellow horizontal line.  Had a large gold cross earring from his left ear and gold necklace around his neck.
