At approximately 2.50pm on Sunday 7 August 2016, a man entered a supermarket on Nollamara Avenue Nollamara. The man walked around the store and selected a milk drink from the fridge and placed the item into his pocket.  The man approached the counter and was ready to leave when a staff member approached the man and asked him to remove the drink from his pocket.

The man became agitated and pushed the staff member in the chest forcibly before starting to throw punches at the staff members head and torso.  The man poured the drink over the staff member before walking out of the store.

As a result of the assault, the staff member received bruising as well as a split lip.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.

The man is described as:

  • Dark skinned
  • 35-45 years of age
  • Medium build
  • Dark coloured facial hair
  • Wearing a grey beanie, dark coloured top with ‘Jack Daniels’ motif on front, dark ¾ shorts and dark coloured runners.
