A victim of a frightening attack owes her lucky escape to a vigilant motorist who scared off her attacker as he tried to drag her into his vehicle late last year.

Around 4.00am on Thursday the 25th of October 2012, the victim was walking east on Beaufort Street between Bulwer Street and Chatsworth Road in Highgate when a male exited a late model black Holden Ute parked on the opposite side of the road and approached her.  The male asked the victim if she needed help to which she declined. He then grabbed the victim by her arm and continued to pull her towards his vehicle when an approaching vehicle shone it’s headlights at the victim causing the male to release his grasp and let her go.  The male ran back to his vehicle and quickly drove from the area.

Detectives have released a composite image of a male in the hope that someone may be able to assist with his identity.

The male is described as:

  • Fair complexion
  • 28 – 35 years
  • Medium build
  • Sandy blonde / mousey hair
  • Approx 185cm

Observed driving a late model Holden Utility with dark window tint and a fibreglass hard tonneau cover.
