At approximately 9.10pm on Monday 27 June 2016, the victim, a 65 year old man, parked his vehicle and entered a service station on Benningfield Road Bull Creek. The victim made a purchase, walked back towards his vehicle and a man approached him demanding money while threatening to assault him.

The victim walked back into the service station and told the attendant what was happening. Another man, who was already inside the store offered to walk with the victim back to his car for his safety.

As the two walked back towards the victims’ vehicle, the first man reappeared. The second male said, ‘sorry not my business’, walked away and sat down nearby. Once again money was demanded by the man before punching the victim to the head, causing a deep laceration.
