An innocent greeting during a morning walk turned into terrifying ordeal for a 51 year old woman in Rivervale. 

Around 7.55am on Monday the 30th of January 2012, the woman was on a leisurely walk along Fitzroy Road in Rivervale when she politely greeted a male walking in the opposite direction.  In a surprise attack the male charged at the woman, forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her, the ordeal ceasing when the victim viciously fought back,  screaming for help, triggering the male to leave the area.       

Detectives have released a composite image of the male responsible for the attack in the hope that someone may be able to recognise him.

The male is described as: 

  • Olive Complexion
  • Straight black hair
  • Medium build
  • Dark eyes
  • Approximately 180cml
  • Wearing a dark coloured t-shirt with a brown stripe across the front and dark pants.
