Detectives have arrested the culprit responsible for a daytime burglary on a York home but remain on the search for the numerous items of jewellery stolen during the raid.

Around 5.30pm on Sunday the 30th of October 2011, the home owner was in the rear garden with his wife when he went inside the house to wash his hands when he was disturbed by a male standing in his kitchen with a handful of property.   In an effort to retrieve his property the victim grabbed at the males jacket triggering him to drop the property on the floor, slide out of his jacket, and exit the home through the back door.

A search of the home revealed that the male escaped with in excess of ten thousand dollars in jewellery not yet recovered.

Detectives have released images of some of the items of jewellery stolen from the home in the hope that some of the items can be returned to their rightful owners.

If you know the whereabouts of these items or have any information about them, report online or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, where all calls are strictly confidential, and rewards are offered. Please quote Reference Number 5819.
