A male smashed up a car in Morley when someone witnessed something that wasn’t right!

At 5.15pm on Tuesday the 18th of November 2014, the victim was eating dinner in his vehicle in the Coventry Marketplace car park in Morley. From where he was sitting in his driver’s seat, he could see two male’s standing near a grey Mazda sedan.

A short time later, a silver Kia Sorrento parked in front of the Mazda. The Victim watched as the driver of the Kia handed one of the males a thick envelope. The male pocketed the envelope and retrieved a plastic wrapped package from the older male, then handed the package to the driver of the Kia. The Kia driver then left the scene.  During this, the males had seen that the victim was watching what they were doing.

The Mazda was driven over to where the victim was. They parked next the Victim’s vehicle and verbally abused him. One of the males walked towards the Victim and threatened him. The Victim moved away towards the front of his vehicle. The male smashed the rear passenger window and broke the door lock of the victim’s vehicle.

The Victim started taking photos of the male and the Mazda using his mobile phone.  The male continued to smash the victim’s vehicle with the hammer. The male eventually got into the Mazda and left the scene.

Police have released an image of the male who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.

The male is described as:

  • Light skinned
  • 20-30 years of age
  • Slim build
  • Wearing a blue t shirt with white and green stripes on shoulders, black shorts, black baseball cap with yellow peak.
