A couple worked in unison recently when they fraudulently changed the price tag on an expensive tool with a cheaper item in order to pay for it at a cheaper price.
At about 6.30pm on Monday the 5th of December, 2011, a male and female entered a Claremont hardware store on Leura Avenue, Claremont, where they made their way to the tool section of the store and selected a $700 Compound Mitre Saw. The pair swapped the barcode label from the saw for that of a $200 drill and made their way to the checkout where they fraudulently obtained the mitre saw for the sum of $200. The couple walked out undetected until a review of CCTV footage uncovered their antics.
