A case of letterbox identity fraud recently left a North Perth couple $5000 in debt after the offender/s went on a massive spending spree.

At some stage between 5.30pm on Thursday the 20th October, 2011 and 3pm on Saturday the 22nd of October, 2011, unknown offender/s stole credit cards from a letterbox on Kadina Street, North Perth, unbeknownst to the householder.  It wasn’t until the owner’s of the card attempted to use them that they were advised by their bank that their new cards that were posted out in the mail had been used. The couple were unaware that new cards had been issued.

The stolen credit cards were later used by two females on multiple occasions at various stores in the Maddington, Morley, Bullcreek, Livingston and Mirrabooka. CCTV footage reveals the females casually strolling around the centres loading up goods worth hundreds of dollars, brazenly pushing a child in a trolley with balloons attached. One of the females was possibly pregnant.
