A middle aged woman was left in a state of shock after a male indecently assaulted her in a Shopping Centre car park.
Around 1.10pm on Wednesday the 6th of July, 2011, the woman had just finished at the Ashfield Shopping Centre and was entering the carpark on Coulston Road when she was approached by a male riding a black mountain bike with a black shopping basket attached to the rear. The male engaged in conversation with the victim making provocative requests which the victim declined.
Overcome by the males lewd comments, the victim complied with his instruction to remove her jacket and remained motionless while he attempted to kiss her on the lips but failed as she turned her head to avoid contact, the kiss landing on her right cheek. The male indecently assaulted the victim twice before she mustered the courage to walk away where she was approached by witnesses at a nearby lunch bar to see if she was ok.
Detectives believe that the perpetrator may be a ‘local’ to the area and have released an image of a male they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.
The male is described as:
·         Dark complexion
·         30 – 35 years
·         Medium build
·         Black hair
·         Approximately 170 -175cm
·         Wearing blue shorts with white on them, a white t-shirt and a blue baseball cap.
