At about 1.15am on Tuesday 5 April 2016, a man entered a betting agency on Murray Street Perth.  The man placed several bets over a period of approximately 20 minutes. As the man was about to leave, he sighted the cash register open and unattended.  After looking around for the attendant, he leaned over, reaching into the till and removed an amount of cash. The attendant saw the man as his hand entered the till and called out ‘Hey!’  The man ran from the store closely followed by the attendant. The attendant caught up to the male a short distance away by grabbing him from behind by the collar of his shirt.  The man turned around and hit the attendant to the face with his hand.  The attendant released the man, who ran away. Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe can assist them with their inquiries. The man is described as:

  • Tan skinned
  • Solid build
  • Approximately 170cm tall
  • 30-40 years of age

Wearing a ‘Peter Brock’ black polo shirt with red under the arms and ‘05’ on the front right chest area, blue jeans, black shoes and a black baseball cap.
