Police are appealing to any witnesses who may be able to shed some light on a recent assault, where a man was taken by members of the public to Fremantle Emergency Department with a serious head injury.

At around 10.20pm on Thursday the 12th of January, 2012, the male was taken to Fremantle Hospital’s Emergency Department, by two members of the public. The Good Samaritans picked up the male who was lying on the footpath in Holdsworth Street, Fremantle. Hospital staff contacted Police due to the man’s injuries appearing consistent with an assault. Police attended and spoke to the 58 year old man, who had no recollection of being assaulted, only remembering drinking earlier at a pub in South Terrace, Fremantle. What is known is that $130 and various cards are missing from his wallet. The man was treated for a broken jaw, broken nose and fractured skull.    

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or been in the vicinity at the time who may have noticed anyone acting suspicious to contact Crime Stoppers.
