A male used deception to gain entry into a young woman’s flat in Crawford Road, Maylands where he sexually assaulted her.
The 25 year old victim was woken just after midnight on Sunday the 1st of April, 2012 by the sound of the rear gate of her unit opening followed by a knock on her door and a male voice identifying himself as a neighbour calling out for help. The victim, believing that it was a neighbour in distress, opened the front door of her unit and was confronted by a male armed with a screwdriver who forced his way inside. The male wrestled the victim to the ground and sexually assaulted her. During the wrestle the victim fought back and bit the male on his hand causing him to release his grip on her and flee from the premises into a light coloured sedan, last seen driving off down Railway Parade, Maylands towards Meltham Train Station.
The male is described as:
- Approximately 165 – 170cm
- Stocky build
- Bald thinning hair.
- Wearing clothing over his face
