CCTV wins again capturing a brazen thief in the act as she snatched a set of car keys from behind the counter of a Bibra Lake Hardware store before going on to steal a vehicle from the nearby car park.

At about 8.30am on Saturday the 29th of June 2013, CCTV captured a male and female as they stood waiting near the customer service desk at Bunnings Warehouse on Stock Road. When the customer service assistant walked away from the counter to assist another customer the female seized her opportunity. Footage clearly showed her as she reached behind the counter and snatched a set of car keys that had been left on the desk. Both the male and female then left the store and headed to the car park where they used the keys to steal a white Mitsubishi Magna registration 1EGN783.

Police have released a CCTV image of a male who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.  

The male is described as:

  • Tanned skinned
  • 20-30 years
  • Wearing a black cap, black tracksuit pants, black shoes and a distinctive black and white ‘Everlast’ hoodie.

The female is described as:

  • Tanned skinned
  • 20-30 years
  • Wearing a black hoodie, green tracksuit pants, light pink shirt and sneakers.
