SNAP. Digital evidence from a camera left behind in a stolen motor vehicle has police eager to identify the occupants that happily snapped away during an unauthorised joyride.
In a space of just twenty five minutes, some time between 6.20am and 6.45am on Friday the 11th of January 2013, offenders stole a white Holden Calais, 2005 model, bearing number plates 1DAE705, from a parking bay outside a Carlisle commercial premises.
Two days later, the stolen vehicle was recovered outside 188 Maddington Road, in Maddington where a thorough search and forensic examination of the vehicle uncovered a camera belonging to the vehicles owner.
A review of the digital images shows an unknown male in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and a female seated behind.
Police have released the image in the hope of identifying the people pictured.
The male is described as:
- Dark complexion
- Aged in his 20’s
- Goatee beard
- Pierced left ear
- Wearing a striped top, sunglasses and a cap.
The female is described as:
- Dark complexion
- Aged in her 20’s
- Long brown hair tied in a pig tail
- Wearing a long sleeved top with a large white logo on the front, a chain around her neck and sunglasses
