A teenager may have thought stealing a computerised scanner was a bit of fun yet the owners of the Liquor Store are now $1000 out of pocket.
At around 3.00pm on Thursday the 27th of January, 2011, the teenager attended the Liquor store on Beach Road, Warwick. Whilst a shop assistance was distracted the teenager picked up a cordless computerised scanner that was left sitting on top of a carton of beer, and walked outside the store. The scanner is a reconditioned PDT Telthon valued at $1000, however a new replacement would cost $2500. The store’s owners have been left frustrated at the senseless theft of the scanner, as it would probably serve no purpose to the teenager.
Police have released CCTV footage of a male who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.
The male is described as:
- Late teenager
- Fair complexion
- Dark hair
- Wearing a black bowler type hat, Khaki Quicksilver t-shirt
