On Friday 8 July 2016 at around midnight, a man was sitting in a 2015 white Holden Club Sports sedan parked on Reserve Street, Claremont.

He was approached by two men who threatened him, striking him to the arm with a wooden stake. They then forced him to hand over the keys to the vehicle.

The first man is described as tan skinned, 25-30 years of age, 170-180cm tall, medium build wearing a black hooded jumper worn with the hood up and a black handkerchief covering his nose and mouth.

The second man is described as about 185-190cm tall, 35 – 40 years of age, thin build wearing a grey hooded jumper and a black handkerchief worn over his mouth and nose.

The males are believed to have been walking around Claremont earlier that evening.

The vehicle was located abandoned in the suburb of Doubleview several days later.
