At approximately 12.30pm on Tuesday 22 March 2016, the victim was walking to the shops on Honeywell Boulevard Mirrabooka, whilst carrying her handbag over her right shoulder. A man approached her from behind and taken hold of her handbag strap and attempted to steal the bag. The man swung the victim, by the handbag strap causing her to fall to the ground. The victim kept hold of her handbag and shouted for help as she was dragged along the path.

Several members of the public came to the aid of the victim, shouting at the man, who subsequently released his grip and ran from the area.

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.

The man is described as:

  • Dark skinned
  • 18-20 years of age
  • Thin/medium build
  • Approximately 165cm tall
  • Wearing a white polo shirt with a bold white strip going vertically down the centre of the back, grey/black shorts.
