Drugs, handgun and ammo seized
Police intelligence and information received from members of the public through Crime Stoppers resulted in drugs, ammo and a homemade gun being seized following a series of raids in Perth’s south eastern suburbs.
Twelve people were charged with a total of 25 offences as a result of the operation, codenamed “Nebulos.”
Kensington Detectives executed nine search warrants on properties in early January and seized ammunition, an unlicensed homemade handgun, drug paraphernalia, cannabis, methamphetamine, heroin and dexamphetamines.
A hydroponic cannabis set up was also found.
Officer in Charge of Kensington Detectives, Detective Senior Sergeant Tom Tristram, said Operation Nebulos was an initiative targeting mid-level meth dealers across Perth’s south eastern suburbs.
“It is well known that drug users commit volume crime offences to fuel their drug use. By targeting mid-level dealers and removing the source for these drugs, we generally see a decrease in burglary and stealing offences shortly after these type of operations,” he said.
Anyone with information about the distribution of illicit drugs is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au. Callers can remain anonymous.
